In the midst of a crime wave involving gang turf battles, gun crimes and violent ram raids, the Government along with the Greens and the Maori Party have responded by scrapping the law that specifically targets repeat violent offenders – all of whom have a track record even before getting caught. In a previous issue of Family Matters, Bob presented the evidence for why the law is working and should have been retained.
