Concerned Kiwi parents have reached out to the government about public schools overstepping the mark by indoctrinating their children.
Last week, ACT Party leader David Seymour publicly denounced numerous schools involved in pressuring students to take part in the recent treaty principle bill protests. Schools were reportedly even organising transport to the events.
Numerous parents had contacted the minister with their concerns.
David Seymour says all schools must be politically neutral.
The Acy Party leader says schools are funded by all of us to equip young people with the knowledge to face the world with an intelligent and open mind. The school system should never be weaponised for indoctrination or to prop up one side of a political debate.
David Seymour has encouraged concerned parents to write to their school board reminding them of these obligations under the public service’s Integrity and Conduct standards.
Let’s make this clear, we are not trying to debate the issue of the treaty principles bill protests. However, this example is significant in highlighting the level of indoctrination in our children’s classrooms.
Family First has been talking about this for years and it seems that no one in the Beehive has the guts to truly rip the woke out of our schooling system.
If David Seymour is so concerned about political neutrality in schools and getting rid of indoctrination, he needs to also speak up against the likes of Pride Week in schools.
Pride Week is overseen by the radical and government-funded charity InsideOUT but promoted by the Ministry of Education.
“Pride” is a political movement which has been marketed as a demonstration of ‘inclusion and diversity’, but it has nothing to do with inclusion and tolerance. It reeks of intolerance and exclusion. It has become the main method used by the aggressive lobbying groups and cultural evangelists who are targeting schools and children with radical and extreme sexuality and gender ideology in the name of “LGBTQIA+”.
While many adults in society now choose to attend “Pride” events, children should not be exposed to such political and moral indoctrination by their schools.
There is also Pink Shirt Day. Many parents are not aware that, while well-intentioned, Pink Shirt Day is being used by activists to politicise gender theory and sexual identity of school children under the guise of anti-bullying programmes, rather than deal appropriately with the issue of school bullying which we’re all concerned about. Pink Shirt Days are predominantly and have always been about promoting an LGBT-narrative.
Outside of your usual school subjects, for example, Maths, English and Science; Family First would argue the need for parental choice, without coercion from activist teachers.
For example, if you choose to send your child to a Christian based school you know they will encounter religious education. That was your choice as a parent.
And while we are not holding our breathe, wouldn’t it have been lovely for one of our political parties to publicly call out Pride Week in schools as indoctrination as well.
David Seymour has called on parents to fight back against indoctrination at our public schools. So let’s take him up on that, and write to school boards reminding them of their obligations and then voting accordingly when it comes to their re-election.
It’s time to get woke out of our schools.
