The Government are trying to railroad the “conversion therapy ban” through parliament, but with more than 100,000 submissions there must be extra time given to properly review and consider them.
The Government is trying to trample over democracy, so Simon Bridges is writing to Minister Faafoi to request more time for the Justice Select Committee to consider the law change, “given Labour opted to shorten the submissions period to under four weeks from the usual six, so that it could be passed by Christmas.”
Bridges also wants amendments to exempt parents from being criminalised under this controversial law.
He calls the law an “ideological over reach”
