Schools want to know the best way to care for their students, especially when it comes to the difficult issue of gender identity and children wanting to change their sex. At the moment schools are being pressured by groups such as InsideOut and RainbowYouth who are endorsed by the Ministry of Education. But now there’s a new resource for schools entitled “Students and Social Transition: A gender identity policy guide for New Zealand schools” from the Ethos Alliance. It’s a very valuable and helpful resource for schools and families wanting to protect children. We speak to Alex Penk from the Ethos Alliance.
