McBlog: Forum 2025 speakers Dawn Hawkins / Kirralie Smith

The Forum on the Family is coming up in August (Thursday 28th Friday 29th August) at the Due Drops Event Centre in Manukau City. This conference will bring together a national network of family-focused organisations, scholars, church & community leaders and individuals who are social conservatives. You are invited! The theme of this year’s forum is “Courage at a Cultural Tipping Point”, and we have an amazing line-up of brave speakers on key social issues from the US, Canada, Australia and NZ. And in this episode of McBlog, we talk to Dawn Hawkins from the US and Kirralie Smith from Australia.

DAWN HAWKINS (USA)

Topic: Ending Sexual Exploitation In All Its Forms (pornography, sex trafficking, prostitution & child sexual abuse)

Dawn Hawkins led the National Center on Sexual Exploitation for 14 years and continues as a senior advisor for their great mission. NCOSE is the leading organization exposing the connections between all forms of sexual exploitation, including sex trafficking, prostitution, pornography, and child sexual abuse. Dawn has been instrumental in re-imaging the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. She has centered the need to address sex buyer demand for commercial sex, has severely weakened the mainstream pornography industry, and is leading efforts to bring more accountability to technology platforms for child safety. Dawn has called out and changed corporate entities facilitating exploitation through the annual Dirty Dozen List, fostered a broad international coalition of 600+ organizations, and constantly: advocates for survivors. Her work has sparked change at Google, Hilton Worldwide, Comcast, Walmart, the Department of Defense, Instagram, TikTok, and other influential firms. Dawn has appeared on many television programs, including CNN, Fox & Friends, and Good Morning America. She regularly authors articles and speaks around the country addressing the public health harms of pornography, curbing demand for sex trafficking, protecting children and families in our digital world, and more.

KIRRALIE SMITH (Australia)

Topic: Paying the cost of being a mum who believes in biology

Kirralie Smith is a passionate wife and mother who challenges our political leaders to protect our children, parents’ rights, women’s spaces and services, sport, the military and education from radical gender ideology. She has faced (and is still facing) multiple court cases for stating that biology is real. Kirralie is part of Binary Australia that promotes biological reality and pushes back against gender ideology. Her just-released book Devastated: How gender ideology is tearing Australian families apart contains the first-hand accounts of families who share the heartbreak of losing their children to a harmful ideology, their feelings of powerlessness as their kids are groomed online and the devastating impacts on their marriages and children. These parents have been silenced by a system that prohibits any dissent or questioning of a child expressing a desire to “transition their gender”.
