Family Matters: Sall Grover on the erasure of women by the Australian courts

In this episode of Family Matters, Simon sits down with Sall Grover to discuss how women are no longer recognised or protected under Australian law.

Sall has just lost a court case in which the rights of actual women has come a distant second to the preferences of men who want to identify as female. In a case called Tickle vs. Giggle, a biological man has successfully argued that his preferences and beliefs trump the biological reality of actual women.

Sall discusses her legal journey and the extraordinary cost – in time, money, and effort – to fight for the most basic of human rights, that of protecting the distinction between men and woman.

Simon and Sall discuss how sex distinctions have been erased by the Court, and also how free speech and the ability to clearly identify reality have become illegal.

According to the judges, merely mentioning the male characteristics of a trans-women is now illegal! Sall shares how simply laughing a meme in court has cost her thousands of dollars, noting how a simple impulsive reaction to an absurdity has been weaponised. She rightly asks, who next will fall foul of such legal craziness where a normal human reaction to a warped situation becomes the grounds for prosecution.

In a wide range discussion on her case, they talk about the political impacts in Australia and also highlight what New Zealand Members of Parliament need to consider as they prepare to vote on a ‘definition of women and men’ Bill. As they both note – do MPs believe in reality or are they prepared to lie about what is clearly real and obvious.
