The years of free fees at university are over. Two billion dollars of taxpayers money later, it’s coming to an end. It was quite clear the goals that Jacinda Ardern’s government set out to achieve with this policy failed. But while our minds are turned to our universities, should we rethink the whole system while we are at it?
