On the same day as our General Election here in New Zealand, Australians will also be going to the polling booth to have their say in a referendum. The question on the ballot paper will be: “A Proposed Law: to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. Do you approve this proposed alteration?” We speak to John Anderson – former Deputy Prime Minister under the Howard Government and guest speaker at our recent conference – who is campaigning for a NO vote.
