In this episode of Solid Ground, Simon discusses the election of a new conservative President in Poland and how mainstream media are reporting his win. He then turns to the US state of Minnesota where fencing (the sport) authorities there have effectively abolished the women’s competition by insisting there will only be mixed events. Simon then returns to New Zealand with St John’s pulling some of its volunteer programs and the Wellington City Council wasting time and money to set up a city to city relationship with Ramallah while the water pipes and other infrastructure continues to fail.
